If you or your child has eczema and you’ve ever been prescribed Topical Steroids you need to read this.

After a long awaited 3 years, following on from their 2021 statement, the National Eczema Society, the British Dermatological Nursing Group, and the British Association of Dermatologists and other professional bodies finally acknowledge Topical Steroid Withdrawal - TSW.

Awareness is increasing and those going through Topical Steroid Withdrawal are active on social media in their billions!

The hashtag #TSW has clocked up over 1.1 billion views on TikTok alone.

There is still a long way to go for Topical Steroid Withdrawal to be recognised by all health care professionals, understanding of how to manage Topical Steroid Withdrawal is limited and often other non-steroidal treatment options come with their own risks.

Naturopathic medicine can support those going through eczema and Topical Steroid Withdrawal, you don’t have to go through this alone, there is a community behind you.

The February 2024 statement from the British Association of Dermatologists can be downloaded free here or using the button blow.

Please note that this document supersedes the earlier Position Statement on Topical Steroid Withdrawal produced jointly in January 2021 by National Eczema Society and the British Association of Dermatologists.

I’ve left the original 2021 document available for download in the resources page of my website for your information.
